A Homam (also known as Havan or Yagna) is a sacred fire ritual in the Vedic tradition where offerings are made into a consecrated fire to invoke the blessings of specific deities.

The Rudra Homam specifically focuses on Lord Shiva in his "Rudra" form, seeking peace, protection, and the removal of obstacles.

Key Elements of a Homam
The Sacred Fire (Agni): Agni is considered the divine messenger who carries the prayers and offerings of devotees directly to the gods.

Offerings (Ahuti): Items like ghee (clarified butter), herbs, and grains are offered into the fire while specific Sanskrit mantras are chanted.

Purpose: It is performed to purify the environment, promote spiritual growth, and bring prosperity to the community.

Naivedyam & Garlands: These are additional offerings of food and flowers presented to the deity as a mark of devotion and gratitude.

Sponsorship: Devotees can participate as sponsors for $51, or support the Naivedyam and Garlands at tiers of $21, $51, or $75.

Involvement: Sponsoring a Homam is believed to bring the benefits of the ritual to the sponsor and their family.
